In days like this, where all you do is feel miserable and not good enough, the one thing that you should do is remind yourself that as Christina Perri sings in one of her songs – ” I am only human”. Being a human is not easy. The struggle starts from the day we are born, until our last final breath. It’s a constant battle not just with life, but mainly with ourselves. When we feel like the weight of the world is on our shoulders, instead of looking for a way to dig ourselves deeper in the never-ending cycle of depression, we should do the exact opposite!
I know it’s easier said than done, because trust me, I go through this on a regular basis, but this is a battle we have to fight. Quitting is not an option. How are you supposed to try making a lemonade if you don’t have any lemons? Life can be both salty and sweet, though I don’t deny that before you get to the good part, you will most likely feel like you climbed Everest. The point is not about how high you have to go, but the path you will walk through before you get there. Transforming yourself into a better version, for you, and for the ones around you. If life doesn’t bring you any lemons, go and find the seeds and plant them by yourself. There is nothing impossible, although it may look like that most of the time.
There are many different types of struggles that each and every one of us goes through. So many people are not accepted for who they are, no matter of what their skin color or sexual orientation is. Though we live in the 21st century, the boundaries that we put ourselves is the one thing that brings us down. This problem goes way beyond that. Sometimes we are not just cruel to the ones around us, but that cruelty is forwarded to animals too. What do you think makes a person good? The answer is very simple, and every single one of us has it. Being good is the easiest thing you can be. All you have to do is look at the world with different eyes and believe in yourself.
Belief is a strong word. Many people may relate it to religion, but it doesn’t stop there. As humans, we all believe in something. Whether is religious or not. But the one thing we should not shut our eyes for is the belief in ourselves. I know that life may knock you down, drag you through hell and back, and not let you believe even for a second that you can swim right back and reach the shore, but you can do it. The next time you feel like the end of the world is right around the corner, turn around and walk the other way. You know what they say – “Don’t let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the GAME”. Spread your wings and be the fearless hero you know you can be!
