Birdy releases new album called “Beautiful Lies”

If some of you are not familiar with who Birdy is, let me give you a quick tour. Jasmine Lucilla Elizabeth Jennifer van den Bogaerde, or better known by her stage name Birdy, is a 19-year old English musician and a singer-songwriter. She was born in Lymington, Hampshire, the UK on 15 May 1996. Birdy has been winning awards at the age of 12 when in 2008 she won Open Mic UK. Her debut single, which many of you may have heard – “Skinny Love”, broke through the European charts and earned platinum certification six times in Australia. Her debut album called Birdyalso became number 1 in Belgium, Australia, and Netherlands. Her music includes several genres like – Folk, Indie Folk, Indie Pop, and Indie Rock.

Enough biography time, for those of you who already know who Birdy is, and even for the ones that don’t know – her new album called “Beautiful Lies” promises the success of its previous ones. The album was officially released yesterday – 25th March 2016. And the album cover looks like this:

In her new album, Birdy is growing even more. She started off as an acoustic cover singer on Youtube, and now she is proving us to be a well deserving powerful artist. Ryan Tedder, the lead singer of One Republic co-wrote a pair of tracks on this album and brings an energy into this album. The album has 14 songs, which are all performed by Birdy – no collaborations. Into a scene where artists like Lorde and Florence are on top, it’s hard to shine, but Birdy is a well-promising artist. She took our hearts with “Skinny Love” when she was 14, so the expectations of her new album are surely going to be high.
